Alberta

  1. Mist Mountain Springs Trail

This hike is 6.4 km located in Kananaskis, Alberta. (1.43 min from Canmore /1.27 min from Banff). This was the highlight of my trip and I highly recommend this hike! Bring along a jacket as it can get very very windy! This hike is a bit challenging and is very steep in some areas, but is worth the journey in the end!

2. Emerald Lake

Emerald Lake is actually located in BC! (1 hr from Banff/ 2.35 min from Calgary). It’s a beautiful drive and is very worth it! The colour of this lake is unreal. I also recommend renting a canoe for an hour on the lake.

3. Columbia Icefield Skywalk, Jasper

Jasper is quite the drive but the Icefield Parkway is known for one of the most beautiful highways in the world. (2 hrs from Banff/ 3.5 hrs from Calgary).

4. Lake Louise

Lake Louise is very touristy so make sure to get here early if you want to get in. (42 min from Banff/ 2.3 min from Calgary). We did the Little Beehive via Lake Agnes trail and the views were amazing! This was an easy path but a long, exhausting and steep hike of 9.0 km.

5. Moraine Lake

Moraine Lake is right beside Lake Louise (18 min). In my opinion, Moraine Lake is much more beautiful. You also need to arrive early if you want to get a spot.

6. Banff

The town of Banff is great for shopping and eating! Definitely try out Banff Ave Brewing Co. Although I’m terrified of heights, the views from Sulphur Mountain are amazing. We took the Gondala up but there is an option of hiking if you really want.

7. Canmore

Canmore is a beautiful town surrounded by mountains. (25 min from Banff/ 1.12 min from Calgary). If you’re looking for a spot to stay, Canmore is the perfect location. There’s great restaurants, cafes, shops and amazing art galleries.
